In the beginning there was Jack. On Tuesday there was Jacky And Friends. The star in ascension made his Zoo Evolution debut on Tuesday 6th of June taking over the Tree House arena from 17:00 through until 22:00 and it was clear from the start that Jacky And Friends were here to plant their flag firmly in the centre of the dancefloor. With the sun shining bright after an unseasonably stormy weekend the arriving crowds brought the Summer vibes with them. An expertly put together session of tech tinged house drew the masses in and kept them firmly rooted front and centre. Classics like Stardust’s Music Sounds Better With You mixed with many of Jacky’s own productions added more than a few hands-in-the-air moments to an effortlessly groove laden set. We’ve got a load more to come from Jacky And Friends this season and we can’t wait for the next addition. Keep your eyes peeled to our social media for clues as to when that might be. And so it fell to long serving Zoo Project resident Jeancedric to follow on and to close the main arena. There’s a reason we often choose our residents to finish things off, it’s our belief that having spent more time than anyone behind our decks and on our dancefloor that residents have the best understanding of how to shut the party down in style. Boy did Jeancedric prove us right! Rather than tell you about it we’ll let you hear for yourselves. The mix below is the live recording of the set, press play, sit back, close your eyes and be transported back to a hazy Tuesday evening dancing under the stars. A masterclass from our French friend!
Down in The Living Room captains of the Mediterranean Cirque De La Nuit took charge of our most intimate of rooms bringing with them able seamen Ryan Platts, Bounty and Anna Kail to swab the decks for a 5 hour voyage into the depths of electronica and beyond. Rounding out the journey Funk E was roped in for the final two hours which he delivered in his own very recognisable style. Sophistication meets rolling Romanian oddities. A true music lovers selection from one of our favourite DJs. Catch Funk E again next week when he plays the Tree House arena alongside some other very special guests.
In the Mandala Garden special guest artists DJ Al Varo and Ona Ray added the perfect soundtrack to the usual array of live performance, ecstatic dance, and extra-sensory activities. This arena has been a real highlight of our fledgling Zoo Evolution experience with great reactions from those who have come specifically for this and also from those who stumble upon it.
You can always pay on the door for our events however for the cheapest tickets and to avoid the queues we highly recommend purchasing them in advance. You can do that for next week and for all our Zoo Evolution events over on our ticket page here.
It’s also not long now until our Zoo Project Saturday Opening Festival on June 17th. We’ve pulled out all the stops for this one as you can imagine and we can’t wait to share with you what we’ve got in store for our 11th year of Saturdays at The Zoo Project.
